where can parents report a book?

One book that was reported was called PUSH.

Push is about Precious Jones an illiterate 16 year old black girl living in Harlem. Her life is a waking nightmare. Her father rapes her and she has giving birth to 2 children with him. Her mother abuses her in every way possible physically, emotionally and sexually.

This book used the N word 22 times!!!!. It is about rape/incest, mental illness. Yet schools warn about the use of the N word in any context at their schools

There is a place on the GECDSB where you can report a book you feel is not age appropriate. Fill out the form

If you would like a list of books that have been brought to the attention of parents, we would gladly send a list. However, it is interesting to see that one book that is listed called “I am Jazz” is about a boy who transitioned to be a girl. If you look up the background story to this transgender teen you will see just how young she was. We have also included other videos regarding other transgender teens and their stories
